Mr. Green's Blog: New Regulation in China for Room Air Conditioners(New!)
Since 2005, China has been promoting energy efficiency with its GB (“Guo Biao”) national standards, setting the scope, parameters, and prescriptive test limits for products ranging from household appliances and flat-panel televisions to luminaires/ballasts and automotive parts. On December 31, 2019, China officially published a new GB national standard pertaining to room air conditioners.

Following the cancellation of APEC 2020, PI is bringing you all the great things we planned for the show through our new virtual booth. Highlights include PowiGaN-based InnoSwitch3 offline flyback switcher ICs, BridgeSwitch motor driver ICs for single- and multi-phase BLDC motors, 900 V switcher ICs for regions with unstable mains voltage and the new AEC-Q100 qualified SCALE-iDriver SiC gate driver ICs.
BridgeSwitch BLDC Motor-Driver IC Family Expands to 400 W(New!)
Power Integrations announced that its BridgeSwitch integrated half-bridge (IHB) motor-driver IC family has been expanded and now supports applications requiring up to 400 W. BridgeSwitch ICs feature high- and low-side advanced FREDFETs (Fast Recovery Diode Field Effect Transistors) with integrated lossless current sensing, resulting in inverter efficiency of up to 99.2% in brushless DC (BLDC) motor-drive applications.
Power Integrations Reports Fourth-Quarter and Full-Year Financial Results(New!)
Power Integrations today announced financial results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2019. Net revenues for the fourth quarter were $114.5 million, flat compared to the prior quarter and 23 percent from the fourth quarter of 2018. Net income was $158.3 million or $5.28 per diluted share, compared to $0.57 per share in the prior quarter and $0.77 in the fourth quarter of 2018. Cash flow from operations was $182.2 million for the fourth quarter.
